Chelsea is originally from Humble, TX but grew up in Summerfield, NC. Chelsea grew up as an avid swimmer and basketball player. After sustaining multiple knee injuries, she found the sport of running and a passion for Physical Therapy.
Chelsea earned her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology at East Carolina University where she was a member of the cross-country and track team. Chelsea earned C-USA Third Team All Conference Cross-Country Honors in 2012 and was a 4x C-USA Conference Cross-Country/Track and NCAA Southeast Regional Cross-Country qualifier.
Chelsea pursued her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at East Carolina University while assisting with research post ACL reconstruction and serving as a volunteer coach for the cross-country and track teams. Chelsea presented research titled “Long term knee joint contact force asymmetry during running after ACL Reconstruction” at the 2017 National Combined Sections Meeting. Chelsea also served on ECU’s PT Medical Outreach team to the Dominican Republic. Medical supplies and PT services were provided to underserved areas and education was given to the area’s Medical Doctor and Physical Therapist in an effort to continue long-term services for the community.
Chelsea has an interest in outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine and the evaluation of running mechanics. Chelsea is currently pursuing a strength and conditioning specialization. Chelsea enjoys training for half-marathons, being immersed in the outdoors, traveling, and being active in the Church.
